| SKIN CANCER
At Del Mar Dermatology our
goal is to examine your skin thoroughly, detect early forms of skin
cancer and offer high quality, effective treatment. In most cases, skin
cancer surgery is performed in our office under local anesthesia, with
minimal discomfort and low risk of complications.
Skin cancer is the most
prevalent of all cancers. It is estimated that more than one million
Americans develop skin cancer each year. The main cause of skin cancer
is over exposure to sunlight, especially when it results in sunburn and
blistering.
We offer a skin cancer
prevention program that includes regular skin screenings, skin cancer
education and sun protection recommendations.
Please remember that a
change in a mole can indicate a more serious problem. If a mole becomes
larger, or asymmetric, changes color, develops irregular borders,
itches, bleeds or becomes painful you should consult a dermatologist
immediately. |
